Airfreight Officer

About the role

Join UPS as an Airfreight Officer and help shape our air cargo services. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to develop products, coordinate shipments, and ensure compliance with industry regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Support the supervisor in developing and enhancing airfreight forwarding products in collaboration with Sales, Marketing and other teams.
• Plan and coordinate daily shipment movements to meet operational requirements and customer needs.
• Negotiate charges with airlines or vendors, apply margin guidelines and propose sell rates.
• Verify airline billing accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Act as a subject‑matter expert in airfreight operations, contributing to tenders and customs/trade compliance initiatives.
• Implement corrective actions from audit findings and close operational gaps.
• Continuously review and improve processes to align with evolving customer expectations.
• Perform any other duties assigned by management.

Required profile

• Diploma or bachelor's degree in any discipline, preferably Logistics & Supply Chain or Business Administration.
• 3–5 years of experience in airfreight or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of IATA regulations; Dangerous Goods certification is an advantage.
• Familiarity with customs and trade control regulations; relevant certifications are a plus.
• Willingness to work a 5.5‑day week on afternoon or night shifts (Mon‑Fri 12 pm‑9 pm or 8:30 pm‑5:30 am, Sat 12 pm‑4 pm or 6 pm‑10 pm).
