Analyst, Planner/Buyer

About the role

Edwards' Global Operations & Quality team works with manufacturing operations and sales teams to deliver products to patients with cardiovascular disease. This Analyst, Planner/Buyer role covers strategic inventory planning, labeling, warehouse management, material handling and other supply chain work, with duties split into Planner and Buyer functions.

Key responsibilities

• Planner: develop and schedule the Manufacturing Production Plan from the Master Production Schedule, managing issues such as non-conforming materials, equipment availability and unplanned requirements
• Analyze resource availability, develop short- and mid-range capacity plans with manufacturing teams and generate work orders in the system (e.g. JDE)
• Manage work order progress with production, quality, microbiology and engineering, and provide ship schedules to Supply Chain/Demand
• Create KPI reports, identify opportunities for report automation and establish gross inventory targets, including action plans for excess and obsolete parts
• Logistics: liaise with the warehouse team on shipping and receiving, and ensure shipments comply with import and export laws and regulations
• Buyer: plan material requirements to support production schedules and new product launches, working with suppliers on specifications and vendor capacity, and expedite purchase orders from the receiving dock through inspection to production stores

Required profile

• Diploma in Material Management or a related field with 5 years of related experience, or a Bachelor's degree in a related field with 3 years of related experience
• Experience in purchasing, logistics and/or production control
• Experience in a medical device and/or regulated industry preferred

Required skills

• Proven expertise in Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience with MRP and ERP (e.g. JDE) preferred
• Solid knowledge of MRP, inventory management programs (e.g. Kanban, Min/Max) and procurement procedures
• Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment and adhere to company rules and safety protocols
