Analyst/Associate, Sector Coverage

About the role

Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) is looking for an Analyst or Associate for its Sector Coverage function in Global Corporate and Investment Banking APAC, based in the Singapore office. The role supports the bank's positioning as a lead bank by anticipating sector themes and financing challenges for clients, with a focus on debt financing, capital structuring and deal execution. It covers the Mobility, Consumer, Healthcare and Industrials sectors, and the successful candidate may work across other sector verticals as deal flow arises.

Key responsibilities

• Engage senior client executives with thematic, cross-sector insights and originate event-driven opportunities with local coverage, product and distribution partners.
• Originate and execute corporate M&A debt financings, with a focus on credit analysis, modelling and valuation, due diligence, loan structuring and deal execution across APAC.
• Support credit decisions with financial models and analyses such as comparable transactions and peer analysis, and help monitor deal risk.
• Manage day-to-day project and transaction administration and prepare marketing materials, transaction documentation and investor/management presentations.
• Work with coverage bankers, Debt Capital Markets and product partners on origination-to-distribution engagement.
• Research sub-sector trends, winners and losers and potential deals, and contribute to the bank's profile as a lead bank (conferences, branding).

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree.
• Analyst: minimum 1 year of corporate finance or leverage finance experience at a leading bank.
• Associate: minimum 4 years of corporate finance or leverage finance experience at a leading bank.
• Proven experience in financial analysis, modelling and due diligence.
• Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, critical thinking and ability to manage conflicting priorities.
