APAC Tax Director

Key responsibilities

• Cultivate strategic partnerships with country and regional management for efficient business information exchange.
• Review complex transactions, identify tax‑sensitive issues, and conduct research to provide comprehensive tax position alternatives.
• Advise on significant income and non‑income tax audits and negotiate with foreign tax authorities as required.
• Manage relationships with outside tax counsel and advisors for planning and audit activities.
• Oversee customs‑related audits and litigation matters, collaborating with relevant departments.
• Coordinate with the Tax Accounting Department to ensure accurate tax item preparation for financial statements.
• Analyze and interpret foreign legislation, court decisions, and regulations to guide management actions.
• Supervise the tax department staff and manage external projects and advisors.

Required profile

• Graduate degree in Tax and Accounting or equivalent.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in international tax planning and management within major corporations or firms.
• Understanding of tax accounting principles and regulations, including FIN 48 and FAS 5.
• Proven experience in managing foreign tax audits and outside counsel.
• Ability to lead and mentor a team effectively, demonstrating results‑oriented project management.
• Proficiency in advanced Excel and commitment to continuous professional development.
