Application Developer

About the role

The Technology Division of BCS is looking for an Application Developer to design, build and support scalable, secure Java‑based solutions across both cloud (AWS) and on‑premise environments. The role involves prototyping, coding, and collaborating with delivery teams throughout the software development lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Provide hands‑on support including prototyping, coding and building proof‑of‑concepts.
• Develop Java and web applications on AWS and on‑premises platforms.
• Support build, deployment and testing phases while ensuring security and best‑practice compliance.
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions and conduct performance and capacity assessments.
• Investigate and resolve engineering problems and maintain expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Spring Batch, Struts, Tomcat, Oracle 19c, React/Angular, ServiceNow and AWS services.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science or a related field.
• Minimum three years of experience building and managing critical applications, or a fresh graduate with strong technical skills.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication abilities.

Required skills

• Java (including Spring Boot, Spring Batch, Struts)
• Web frameworks: React JS, Angular JS
• Application servers: Tomcat
• Database: Oracle 19c
• ServiceNow workflow development and integration
• AWS services: EC2, S3, RDS, EKS, ECS, CloudWatch
• Experience with AWS cloud certifications (Solutions Architect Associate or Developer Associate) is a plus.
