Assistant Chemist / Chemist

About the role

Eurofins Scientific, an international life sciences company offering analytical testing services, is hiring an Assistant Chemist/Chemist in Singapore. The role covers sample preparation, testing, result reporting and vendor management within a laboratory that follows ISO 17025 standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare samples and carry out tests according to test methods, SOPs and the laboratory's quality policies, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Prepare legible and accurate data and raw records for review, and perform method validation and measurement uncertainty evaluations
• Perform calibration and maintenance of test equipment, and keep work areas, apparatus and equipment clean after use
• Maintain adequate laboratory inventory of reagents, chemicals and consumables
• Evaluate test results and deliver reports to clients
• Manage the workflow of jobs assigned to sub-contractors and monitor their delivery
• Follow health and safety policies and adhere to ISO 17025 and internal QA/QC requirements
• Carry out other duties assigned by the supervisor or management

Required profile

• Degree in Chemistry or equivalent
• Minimum 1-2 years of relevant experience in a testing laboratory
• Effective written and spoken English
• Able to solve problems, troubleshoot test results and take corrective action
• Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

Required skills

• Familiarity with ISO 17025 laboratory quality management systems is an added advantage
