About the role
The Assistant Cook ensures the kitchen runs smoothly, supports the Cook in food preparation, maintains hygiene standards, and helps manage inventory.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the Cook with food preparation activities such as cleaning, cutting, chopping and peeling ingredients.
- Clean and sanitise food preparation areas in line with hygiene and health‑safety codes.
- Wash, disinfect and store cooking utensils, dishes and kitchen equipment.
- Buy, weigh, receive and store ingredients and food supplies.
- Operate kitchen appliances and tools including cutters, knives, mixers and ovens.
- Manage inventory, unload supplies and organise the storeroom.
- Maintain clean work areas, utensils and equipment throughout the shift.
- Develop new menu items and improvise existing dishes.
Required profile
- Ability to cook North Indian cuisine.
- Willingness to work shift patterns.
- Professional level experience in a kitchen environment.
Required skills
- North Indian cuisine preparation.
- Operation of kitchen appliances (cutters, knives, mixers, ovens).
