Assistant Director, Major Gifts

About the role

The University Advancement Office at NTU is looking for a motivated Assistant Director to join its Major Gifts team. This role will help drive the university’s giving mission by cultivating and stewarding relationships with donors, alumni, corporations, and foundations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage relationships with major donors to maximize philanthropic outcomes.
• Strategically lead fundraising initiatives, including major gifts, capital campaigns, corporate donations, grants, and bequests.
• Collaborate with university leadership, faculty, volunteers, and UAO colleagues to advance gift discussions and align donor interests with NTU’s campaign priorities.
• Lead gift structuring, oversee the closing process, and work with the Stewardship Team to move donors to higher levels of giving.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
• Experience in higher‑education or non‑profit fundraising, or comparable business development/consultative sales experience.
• Proven ability to manage complex relationships and collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
• Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and written communication skills.
• Excellent planning, organisational, and deadline‑driven work habits.
• Global, socially conscious mindset with cultural sensitivity.
• Proactive, solutions‑oriented approach and ability to influence without authority.
