Assistant Finance Controller – AI‑Driven Finance Transformation

About the role

Carousell Group is building a finance function that moves at the speed of its rapidly scaling Southeast Asian business. The Assistant Finance Controller will bridge traditional accounting with AI‑augmented finance, ensuring accurate, timely reporting while automating and redesigning core workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Own and continuously improve the revenue recognition process, using AI tools to automate journal entries, flag exceptions and keep audit‑ready documentation.
• Design and implement automated close workflows to significantly reduce cycle time and manual effort.
• Build and maintain real‑time P&L dashboards in partnership with data and engineering teams, replacing periodic reporting with live business intelligence.
• Act as a strategic finance partner to business unit leaders, providing AI‑generated insights for pricing, headcount and market decisions.
• Lead evaluation and adoption of AI‑powered forecasting tools to improve forecast accuracy and extend planning horizons.
• Collaborate with product, data and operations teams to ensure clean, structured financial data pipelines for downstream AI systems.
• Document and champion new AI‑first finance processes, creating reference materials for the wider group.
