Assistant Manager – Automation & Motion Control Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Manager to lead the design and development of automation and motion‑control solutions for our industrial customers across Singapore. The role combines hands‑on engineering with project leadership, ensuring that complex manufacturing requirements are met through innovative PLC, robot, vision and motion technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, development and commissioning of automation and motion‑control systems using PLCs, robots, vision and AGV technologies.
• Manage projects from technical evaluation through solution design, implementation, testing and hand‑over.
• Develop system architecture, select electrical components and approve design and purchase lists.
• Drive continuous‑improvement initiatives to reduce cycle time, boost productivity and enhance system performance.
• Analyse machine performance data, identify root causes and propose technical improvements.
• Provide technical leadership and consultation to customers throughout the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate with sales, HQ, overseas subsidiaries and suppliers to resolve technical issues and ensure successful delivery.
• Mentor junior engineers and stay updated on emerging automation technologies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Motion Control, Control Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in automation, motion‑control or machine‑builder environments.
• Proven track record of leading automation projects from concept to implementation.
• Experience in semiconductor, display or secondary‑battery industries is highly preferred.
• Willingness to travel as required.
