Assistant Manager – Café & Bar (Pre-Opening)

About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Manager to support the Operations Lead in launching our new all‑day café and bar venue in Singapore. This hands‑on leadership role will involve setting up systems, training staff and shaping the culture from day one.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily floor operations for both café and bar service, ensuring smooth service flow and consistent standards.
• Assist the Operations Lead with team scheduling, manpower planning and performance management.
• Train and develop team members on service standards, product knowledge and standard operating procedures.
• Oversee opening and closing procedures, conduct inventory checks and ensure daily operational readiness.
• Act as the senior decision‑maker on the floor in the Operations Lead’s absence.
• Monitor sales, labour and cost performance and proactively flag any issues.
• Foster a guest‑focused culture where every visit feels intentional.

Required profile

• 2–4 years of experience in food & beverage or hospitality, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or management role.
• Proven ability to manage a team and be accountable for service standards and operational outcomes.
• Comfortable working across both café and bar environments.
• Organised, reliable and calm under pressure.
• Strong communicator who leads by example on the floor.
• Enthusiastic about opening a new venue and able to thrive in a fast‑paced pre‑opening environment.
