Assistant Manager – Community Outreach (Heritage)

About the role

The Education & Community Outreach division of the National Heritage Board seeks an Assistant Manager (Outreach) to oversee two community galleries, develop programmes, and deepen partnerships that promote Singapore’s heritage.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day operations, facilities, service contracts and estate matters for Geylang Serai and Kreta Ayer Heritage Galleries.
• Lead programme planning, budgeting, procurement and publicity for the galleries, analysing data to improve future initiatives.
• Oversee Museum‑Based Learning activities and supervise two temporary staff members.
• Coordinate volunteer relationships, gather feedback and co‑organise the annual volunteer appreciation event.
• Supervise budget utilisation, stakeholder relations and maintenance for Street Corner Heritage Galleries.
• Undertake ad‑hoc projects for the ECO division and work occasional weekends with time‑off in lieu.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of hands‑on experience in heritage, museum, community arts, events or community development.
• Relevant degree in Arts Management, Humanities, Social Sciences, Communications or related field (preferred).
• Strong organisational, proactive and collaborative abilities; genuine interest in Singapore’s heritage.
• Familiarity with government procurement processes and basic contract concepts is advantageous.
