Assistant Physical Distribution Manager

About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Physical Distribution Manager to lead and motivate a high‑performing physical distribution team within L’Oréal Operations. The role ensures the efficient flow of goods, maximises cost‑effectiveness and supports customer satisfaction across our global supply chain.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop the physical distribution team to meet departmental objectives.
• Manage inventory levels, distribution networks and shipping operations, identifying bottlenecks and implementing process improvements.
• Develop and execute strategic, demand‑driven supply‑chain plans that meet Service Level Agreements and on‑shelf availability targets.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design a sustainable, agile fulfillment network aligned with budgetary goals.
• Continuously analyse warehousing, transportation and customs processes to optimise cost, lead‑time and environmental impact.
• Leverage data‑driven insights and evaluate logistics technologies to enhance visibility and decision‑making.
• Define Capex and Opex budgets, optimise warehouse layout and implement efficient processes using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
• Monitor day‑to‑day distribution centre operations in line with L’Oréal policies and business continuity standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading teams in physical distribution or logistics.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to identify inefficiencies and drive continuous improvement.
• Knowledge of supply‑chain optimisation, cost‑control and sustainability principles.
• Ability to work with cross‑functional stakeholders and adapt to changing market conditions.
• Familiarity with budgeting (Capex & Opex) and compliance with safety, health, environment and quality standards.

Required skills

• Warehouse Management System (WMS) proficiency.
