Assistant Relationship Manager - Private Banking

About the role

The Assistant Relationship Manager (ARM) supports one or more Relationship Managers (RM) and Group Heads (GH) in daily operations, administration and client management. The ARM interacts with internal and external stakeholders, provides clients with relevant information and supports the RM in implementing customised solutions, while acting as a role model for service quality and channeling client feedback to the bank.

Key responsibilities

• Client administration: support RMs/GH in client interaction, customise client requests such as reports, statistics and mailings, manage calendars, prepare meetings, organise business trips, complete post-processing of calls and meetings, compile presentations and draft investment proposals, and cover for own absences.
• Business management: collect and exchange relevant information, conduct regular reviews and document work, support project implementation, propose improvements and manage the expense claim process for RMs/GH.
• Risk and controls: help manage client documentation risks, ensure adherence to local regulations and internal policies, clear pending items and escalate issues, and ensure ethical and compliant behaviour.
• Regulatory: act as a representative under MAS SFA and/or FAA.

Required profile

• Able to communicate verbally and in writing with clients in their native language where applicable.
• Natural team player, open and approachable, highly service-oriented and able to work under pressure.
• Sound personal integrity and ethical behaviour.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Japanese to support business communication with Japanese-speaking clients.
• Understanding of relevant Private Banking products and services.
• Basic knowledge of global financial markets and the geographic market's legal and regulatory environment.
• Representative under MAS SFA and/or FAA.
