Assistant Vice President - Data Analytics, Internal Audit

About the role

Barclays is hiring for a BIA Assistant Vice President - Data Analytics in its Internal Audit team in Singapore. The team supports the internal audit function by delivering assurance through analytics. You will work closely with internal audit teams, delivering complex analytics for audit testing, training and coaching data auditors, and developing tools and applications to automate manual tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, clean, analyse and visualise data to identify potential risks, assess regulatory compliance and provide insights to auditors.
• Develop and run data extraction strategies from internal systems, external databases and third-party vendors.
• Analyse data to identify risks and control weaknesses, and give data-driven insights to auditors throughout the audit process.
• Support the development and testing of audit procedures based on data analysis results.
• Implement data management processes ensuring data accessibility, security and integrity.
• Act as the data analytics contact for a portfolio of audit teams, translating requirements into analytics use cases.
• Coach a small group of Data Analytics Specialists on developing and executing basic data analytics with SQL and Python.
• Lead a team, set objectives, coach employees and appraise performance, or lead collaborative assignments and consult on complex issues.

Required profile

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and understand the business and Barclays' audit methodology.
• Ability to work effectively in a global team across time zones and in a matrix environment.
• Legal right to work in Singapore; visa sponsorship must be declared if applicable.

Required skills

• Practical experience and knowledge of data analysis and data modelling with SQL, Python or other tools.
• Analytical approach and ability to describe complex programming to non-technical audiences.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and conflicting priorities.
• Desirable: audit team experience, advanced data science or machine learning, and AWS or Alteryx experience.
