Assistant Vice President, Regulatory Affairs

About the role

Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) is recruiting an Assistant Vice President for Regulatory Affairs in its Singapore office. The Regulatory Affairs Team is responsible for the Bank's communication strategy with the local regulator, the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), and the Association of Banks in Singapore (ABS), and this role supports that central function while managing the Bank's regulatory affairs matters.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate MAS inspections, supervisory visits, offsite risk assessments and surveys or information requests with relevant departments, check responses and ensure they are completed on time.
• Take part in discussions with MAS Banking Development on the Bank's or Authority's business initiatives.
• Prepare materials for the monthly Executive Management Committee meetings and briefings for Singapore Management.
• Help Singapore Management and the Head of Department highlight key risks and controls from a governance perspective, such as AML/CFT, credit market, liquidity and IT.
• Complete ad hoc projects assigned by the Head of Department or Singapore Management.
• Support the Team Lead or Head of Department in resolving material risks and regulatory issues by engaging stakeholders to close the necessary gaps.

Required profile

• Minimum Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years of risk and compliance experience in banking and finance or the audit sector.
• Strong written and oral communication with internal and external stakeholders, good interpersonal and analytical skills, and a strong, motivated team player.
• Ability to multi-task, meet tight deadlines and adapt to a fast-paced environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office and its applications.
