Assistant/Associate Professor – Counselling Psychology (Tenure‑Track)

About the role

The National Institute of Education (NIE) at Nanyang Technological University seeks a tenure‑track faculty member to strengthen its Counselling Psychology programme. The successful candidate will join a vibrant department that integrates psychology, education, and human development research.

Key responsibilities

• Teach and develop undergraduate, graduate and professional development courses in counselling and counselling psychology.
• Conduct research that informs educational practice and policy, with a focus on teaching and learning.
• Build an active research programme, publish in reputable peer‑reviewed journals, and secure external research funding.
• Establish collaborations with local and international academic and practice partners.
• Supervise master’s and doctoral students where applicable.

Required profile

• PhD (or equivalent) in counselling or counselling psychology at the time of application.
• Eligibility for registration or current registration with the Singapore Register of Psychologists and/or Singapore Association for Counselling.
• Minimum of four years of demonstrated, high‑quality teaching experience, including innovative use of educational technology.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• For Associate Professor level: a sustained independent academic reputation with publications in high‑impact venues and/or major research grants.
