Associate Director - Cost / Commercial Management

About the role

Turner & Townsend, a global professional services company with capabilities in programme, project, cost, asset and commercial management, is hiring an Associate Director in Cost Management in Singapore. You will lead the delivery of cost management services for construction projects from initiation to completion, covering strategic planning, stakeholder management, governance and execution, while overseeing costs, leading the team and contributing to business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Line management of cost managers and team members, including structured guidance, feedback, performance reviews and recruitment interviews
• Manage the team's resources against the business pipeline and projects, and foster a collaborative, high-performing team culture
• Act as the key day-to-day client interface, leading multidisciplinary project teams including clients, consultants, contractors and suppliers
• Develop cost benchmarks, establish cost reporting structures and control mechanisms, and present monthly post-contract cost reports to the client
• Own estimating and cost planning, including final revisions of cost plans, and lead value engineering and life cycle costing exercises
• Implement cost controls within schedule, cost, risk and change management, and monitor budgets and financial performance
• Lead commercial negotiations and contract administration, and manage internal risk management procedures and the contract database
• Manage invoicing in D-365, validating invoice data, coordinating with finance teams and tracking invoice status

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Cost Management, Quantity Surveying, Construction, Engineering or a related field; Master's degree is a plus
• Minimum 15 years' experience in cost management, preferably with a financial institutions background
• Strong communication and leadership skills with experience in people management
• Business development and advisory experience in client-facing environments, supporting value management, value engineering and life cycle costing
