Associate Director - Data Centre New Build PMC

About the role

The Associate Director manages the commercial, contractual and technical delivery of a data centre new build, connecting client strategy with site operations. The role leads the PMC team day to day to keep the project on track for scope, budget, quality and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily project administration and ensure construction progress reaches key milestones such as main building envelope completion and weather-tight status.
• Lead administration of main contractor agreements using standard forms (e.g. SIA or REDAS), oversee change management, progress claims and variations, and ensure claims are backed by site data.
• Oversee procurement strategy for trade packages and manage delivery schedules for long-lead equipment such as DRUPS, static UPS and cooling towers.
• Coordinate timely submissions to local authorities and track clearances for structural systems (BCA), industrial land allocation (JTC), industrial water supply (PUB) and diesel generator storage (NEA).
• Lead coordination between the client's design consultants, local QPs and the contractor's detailing teams to close gaps between design models and site installations.
• Work with the Sustainability Manager so construction processes and materials meet the BCA-IMDA Green Mark for Data Centres Platinum requirements.

Required profile

• 12+ years of project management experience in building construction, including at least 5+ years managing data centre or critical infrastructure new builds within a consultancy.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying or Construction Management.
• PMP certification or equivalent.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of data centre typologies, electrical redundancy (N+1, 2N, block redundant) and mechanical cooling (chilled water loops, CRAH, evaporative cooling).
• Understanding of how civil, structural and architectural milestones transition into MEP fit-outs.
• Expert use of Smartsheet for schedules, Procore for RFIs, submittals, variations and contracts, and ACC for design reviews.
