Associate, Portfolio Management - Global Aviation Finance Office

About the role

Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) is recruiting an Associate for its Global Aviation Finance Office (GAFO) in Singapore. The role covers credit analysis, risk monitoring and reporting on aviation finance portfolios, working alongside the head of department and supporting origination and deal execution.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare credit reviews, credit applications, waiver requests and borrower ratings within due dates, with clear credit analysis and sensitivity analysis of financial models
• Identify risks, monitor borrower and project conditions and report on them, escalating where needed
• Manage the overall risk profile of borrowers and recommend mitigations
• Support refinancing, work-out, waiver negotiations, secondary loan transfers and loan participations
• Prepare regular reports (credit conditions, action plans, stress tests, sector monitoring, asset evaluation sheets) and ad-hoc reports for management, head office or regulators
• Coordinate internal and external audits and regulatory inspections
• Support the HOD with operations, administration and events, and back up other team members
• Help maintain and update local credit policies and identify industry and sector trends affecting the portfolio
• Support the AFD team on origination execution, liaising with branches and other divisions, and handle travel, hotel bookings and expense claims
• Deliver high-quality service to internal and external stakeholders and liaise with customers, agents, consultants, auditors and regulators
• Comply with MAS regulations and MUFG group policies, including KYC and compliance

Required profile

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in credit analysis or credit risk, preferably in structured products financing or corporate banking
• Degree qualified
• Experience reviewing and preparing credit application recommendations, credit control reviews and legal documentation
• Good understanding of banking products, credit risk, financial analysis, financial modelling and financing documentation
• In-depth knowledge of aviation financing is an advantage
