Automation & Controls Engineer – Factory Automation

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Automation & Controls Engineer to lead the design, development and commissioning of automation and motion‑control solutions for our factory automation projects across Singapore. The role involves close collaboration with sales, headquarters, suppliers and customers to ensure successful project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement automation solutions using PLC, robotics, vision and motion technologies.
• Manage projects from concept through commissioning to completion.
• Develop system architecture, review electrical designs and select control components.
• Optimise PLC, motion, vision, robot, AGV and servo systems for productivity and reliability.
• Analyse equipment performance, troubleshoot issues and drive continuous improvement.
• Provide technical leadership, customer consultation and solution presentations.
• Mentor junior engineers and stay abreast of emerging automation technologies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Electrical, Control Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in automation, motion control or machine‑building industries.
• Proven track record of managing automation projects from design to implementation.
• Experience in semiconductor, display or secondary‑battery sectors is a plus.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Willingness to travel as required.
