Automation Equipment Technician

About the role

Micron is looking for an Automation Equipment Technician to sustain and improve advanced automation equipment in its manufacturing environment. The role requires strong technical skills in troubleshooting, preventive maintenance and equipment optimisation, working closely with Shift Operations, Equipment Engineers and tool vendors to ensure equipment reliability and support automation initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Repair and maintain automation equipment such as AMHS, ASRS and AGV.
• Perform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting to diagnose and fix electro-mechanical equipment.
• Dismantle, adjust, repair and assemble equipment according to layout plans, blueprints and technical manuals.
• Carry out preventive maintenance (PM) and calibration to keep equipment within specification.
• Implement equipment modifications as directed by engineering teams.
• Monitor tool performance and ensure compliance with shift KPIs for uptime and quality.
• Prepare detailed shift reports and conduct effective passdowns.
• Run Continuous Improvement Projects (CIP) and analyse equipment data to recommend predictive maintenance actions.
• Keep the workplace clean and safe, and take part in root cause analysis and corrective action.
• Support automation integration projects and deploy new technologies.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical/Electronics, Mechatronics or a related automation discipline (fresh graduates are welcome).
• Hands-on, safety-first mindset and willingness to work in a fast-paced, shift-based environment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Required skills

• Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics and manuals.
• Proficiency in basic PC/software tools for equipment monitoring and reporting.
• Knowledge of AMHS, ASRS and AGV systems is helpful.
