Automation Strategy Analyst (NCG)

About the role

Applied Materials is hiring an Automation Engineer (Automation Strategy Analyst) to support robotics and automation initiatives within its global warehouse operations. Based in Singapore, the role contributes to implementing and program-managing automation systems, working with internal teams and external partners to deliver scalable solutions that improve operational efficiency and throughput.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development of automation solutions for logistics operations, including material handling, sorting and inventory workflows.
• Take part in feasibility studies, business cases, prototyping and validation testing.
• Act as lead and change champion to drive global-scale initiatives, working with engineering, operations and IT teams and with external vendors.
• Own part of the BU automation strategy roadmap, its execution and reporting of results to management.
• Contribute to the organization's thought leadership and ensure reliability, safety and performance in high-volume environments.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Robotics, Automation Engineering or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with robotic arms and end-of-arm tooling.
• Exposure to robotics system integration and testing in operational environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
• Preferred: familiarity with automation programs in logistics or manufacturing, experience in large-scale warehouse automation, and knowledge of robotics programming and simulation tools.
