AVP/VP Technology Governance

About the role

We are looking for an experienced IT Governance Lead to strengthen our Line 1.5 technology governance capability. The role will drive effective IT governance, ensure robust oversight of technology controls, compliance and risk management, and align with industry best practices and regulatory expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mature the organisation's IT governance framework, policies and standards in line with MAS technology and cyber risk guidelines (e.g., TRM, CSA, COBIT, ISO27001).
• Provide independent review and challenge to the Technology function on IT risks, control effectiveness and remediation plans.
• Drive governance processes such as risk assessments, control testing, issue tracking and control attestation.
• Ensure timely identification, assessment, monitoring and reporting of IT and cyber risks.
• Support audits, regulatory inspections and compliance reviews, partnering with Line 2 Risk & Compliance.
• Conduct thematic reviews of key technology domains (cloud, identity access management, change management, incident management) and improve control design.
• Track remediation of audit and risk issues and validate closure against standards.
• Act as trusted advisor to senior technology leadership and facilitate governance forums and risk committees.
• Manage and mentor a small team of IT governance and technology risk specialists.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Cybersecurity or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in IT governance, technology risk, IT audit or cyber risk, preferably in financial services.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Demonstrated leadership ability and experience managing small teams.

Required skills

• MAS TRM, ITGC, COBIT, ISO27001, NIST frameworks.
• Experience with cloud, identity access management, change management and incident management controls.
• Professional certifications such as CISA, CISM, CISSP, CRISC, ITIL (preferred).
