Backend Development Intern (6 Months)

About the role

Tencent Finance is looking for a 6-month Backend Development Intern. The intern takes part in backend work on global Finance IT systems and in the development and implementation of AI applications within real Finance IT scenarios.

Key responsibilities

• Take part in backend development of global Finance IT systems, including feature design, coding, API development and system integration
• Contribute to API, database and system module design, and help improve system performance and stability
• Support system testing, deployment, troubleshooting and technical documentation
• Develop and implement AI applications such as intelligent Q&A, document and invoice processing, intelligent review and data analytics
• Help integrate LLM capabilities with business systems, APIs, knowledge bases and data sources, and support AI PoCs, including accuracy, performance and stability testing
• Use AI coding tools to improve development, testing and troubleshooting efficiency
• Take part in functional, system integration and regression testing, and resolve technical issues during deployment
• Work with Business Analysts, business users and other technical teams to deliver solutions

Required profile

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a closely related computing discipline (postgraduate or advanced undergraduate students encouraged)
• Able to commit to at least 6 months, 5 days per week
• Good English reading, writing and communication skills; Mandarin is a plus

Required skills

• Solid Java fundamentals and familiarity with Spring / Spring Boot
• Familiarity with MySQL, basic database design and SQL
• Basic understanding of RESTful APIs, Git and software development processes
• Strong interest in AI / LLMs and their practical applications
• Nice to have: hands-on experience with LLMs, RAG, AI Agents, OCR or similar AI projects, microservices, Redis, message queues, and enterprise systems, Finance or Travel & Expense projects
