Backend Software Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Backend Software Engineer to join our Singapore engineering team. You will work on large‑scale backend systems that serve millions of users on a leading international e‑commerce and lifestyle platform. Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Java.
• Build high‑performance, reliable, and distributed systems.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality products.
• Optimize system performance, scalability, and stability.
• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical improvements.

Required profile

• 1–5 years of backend software engineering experience.
• Strong programming skills in Java; Golang experience is a plus for candidates willing to transition to Java.
• Good understanding of data structures, algorithms, multithreading, and distributed systems.
• Experience with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Mandarin Chinese speaking ability to work with Mandarin‑speaking stakeholders.
