Backend Software Engineer – Wallet

About the role

TikTok is building a high‑performance, large‑scale distributed infrastructure for its live‑streaming and in‑app wallet services. As a Backend Software Engineer focused on the Wallet product, you will design, develop, and optimise core backend systems that enable seamless payments and real‑time interactions for millions of users.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to enhance the stability, agility, and robustness of the TikTok Wallet and payment ecosystem.
• Design and improve system architecture to ensure high availability, performance, and reliability at scale.
• Develop and maintain large‑scale backend services that power the TikTok app and its live‑streaming features.
• Participate in the full product lifecycle, from concept through deployment and monitoring.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience building backend services for large‑scale consumer‑facing applications.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in at least one language: Go, Python, Java, or C++.
• Deep understanding of computer architectures, data structures, and algorithms.
• Experience with designing and operating high‑throughput, low‑latency backend systems.
