About the role
The Banquet Manager is responsible for ensuring seamless execution of banquet events, from initial client contact through to post‑event follow‑up. This role combines customer liaison, event planning, sales strategy, and team leadership within a hospitality environment.
Key responsibilities
- Meet with clients, gather requirements, and review Banquet Event Orders to determine setup, buffet, audio‑visual needs, timelines, and special requests.
- Develop and monitor sales targets, budgets, and growth plans aligned with the Board of Directors’ revenue objectives.
- Conduct market research, identify key segments, and establish new accounts for the group.
- Oversee day‑to‑day event operations and ensure staff performance tracking and route‑of‑advancement planning.
- Collaborate with marketing to craft brand identity, create at least three campaigns per brand annually, and manage marketing budgets.
- Coordinate with other departments to achieve the P&L targets set by senior management.
- Perform any additional duties assigned by management.
Required profile
- Diploma or degree in Hotel Management, Food & Beverage, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience in banquets, catering sales, or catering services.
- Knowledge of profit and loss statements, food and wine pairing, and menu composition.
- Experience handling wedding events is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with customers, employees, and vendors.
- Problem‑solving and leadership abilities.
- Fluent in English and Mandarin.
