Biotechnologist III (Central Services)

About the role

AbbVie is hiring a Biotechnologist III for its Central Services function in Singapore. The role covers current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) manufacturing operations in the biologics production facility, including set-up and calibration work with engineers, rework and quality testing, and central services such as buffer and media preparation, autoclave and glasswash operations, cleaning and raw material sampling.

Key responsibilities

• Perform cGMP manufacturing operations, including set-up and calibration with engineers, and rework and quality testing of parts, components and final materials.
• Carry out central services: buffer and media preparation, autoclave operations, glasswash processes, cleaning and raw material sampling.
• Use tools such as LIMS, SAP and automated control systems to collect and evaluate operating data, supporting on-line adjustments to products, instruments or equipment.
• Help determine and develop methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process.
• Transfer methods into production instructions, schedule work tasks, draft documents of moderate scope and complexity, circulate them to reviewers and manage their approval.
• Analyze data to solve moderate-complexity problems and coordinate activities with sub-groups and other teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• At least 1-5 years of relevant experience and good writing skills.
• Working knowledge of media/buffer preparation, cell culture or purification of biological drugs.
• Flexibility to handle multiple tasks under pressure and ability to work effectively in a team.

Required skills

• Computer proficiency.
• Working knowledge of safety, quality systems and current Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Familiarity with tech transfer processes.
• Basic understanding of cGMP as applied to equipment and process steps in the area of responsibility.
