Business Development Executive – Specialty Industries

About the role

International Sales is seeking a Business Development Executive for its Specialty Industries division, covering Chemical, Renewables and Forest Products, to be based in the Singapore or Sydney office. Reporting to the Staff VP, Global Sales, the role will drive new business growth across APAC.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve new‑business targets set by the Regional Sales Manager.
• Develop and execute prospecting strategies, maintaining up‑to‑date records in the Strategic Relationship System (SRS).
• Build and nurture relationships with prospective clients and broker partners to generate continuous opportunities.
• Manage the full sales cycle from prospect development to closing.
• Represent the company at local insurance and brokerage events, conferences and meetings.
• Monitor competitor offerings, pricing and market trends.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in risk management, loss‑prevention engineering, claims or underwriting.
• Experience in the broader insurance industry is a plus.
• Strong understanding of sales processes including prospecting, nurturing, negotiating and closing.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.
• Strong interpersonal, planning and organisational abilities.
• Comfortable using technology and social media platforms.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
