Buyer (Export Control)

About the role

BeeX is seeking a Buyer (Export Control) to source specialised components for its Hovering Autonomous Underwater Vehicles and ensure all purchases, imports, and exports comply with trade control regulations. You will balance cost, lead time, and quality while maintaining compliance for strategic and dual‑use goods.

Key responsibilities

• Source and purchase HAUV components, sub‑assemblies and services based on BOMs, production plans and engineering requests.
• Negotiate prices and lead times, issue purchase orders and manage critical long‑lead items such as subsea connectors, sensors, thrusters, PCBs and batteries.
• Classify components against control lists (e.g., Singapore Strategic Goods, Malaysia Strategic Trade Act, US EAR) and obtain necessary licences, end‑user certificates and permits.
• Screen suppliers, customers and end‑users against sanctions and restricted‑party lists and maintain export‑control records.
• Coordinate international shipments, work with freight forwarders, customs brokers and manage dangerous‑goods logistics.
• Maintain accurate purchasing data in ERP (Odoo) and reporting tools, and report spend, supplier performance and compliance status.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, International Trade or related field.
• 2–5 years purchasing experience, preferably in electronics, robotics, marine, aerospace or defence manufacturing.
• Hands‑on experience with export control, customs compliance and strategic‑goods permits.
• Strong negotiation, organisational and communication skills, with high integrity and attention to detail.
