Buyer / Planner

About the role

KLA, a global leader in electronics for the semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem, is hiring a Buyer/Planner in Singapore. The role covers purchasing of materials, components and equipment, planning and monitoring of supply, and managing supplier relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Purchase materials, components and equipment according to MRP or reorder point systems, and determine material requirements from engineering and production schedules
• Maintain inventory at planned levels and drive supply assurance to production through MRB materials, supplier on-time delivery and timely ECO execution
• Work with suppliers on shortages and propose workarounds, and manage costs by reviewing EOQ pricing, MRB rework costs and avoiding unnecessary expedited freight and PPV spend
• Plan, schedule and monitor material movement through production, and monitor the cost, schedule and scope of the supply base
• Handle excess and obsolescence, gather quotations, examine bids, award contracts and develop specifications for new orders
• Evaluate vendor reliability, develop new supply sources and take part in the supplier scorecard process
• Develop processes and best-known methods (BKMs) with functional groups, create training material and roll it out, and highlight project timeline limitations
• Support system setup, data cleansing, UAT, cut-over and go-live, and help troubleshoot issues via enhancement and incident tickets

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Engineering or Supply Chain Management
• At least 3 years of purchasing or supply chain management experience
• Knowledge of supply chain and materials flow concepts
• Able to work independently and with offshore locations, and a plus in low-volume, high-mix and DFT/pull environments

• SAP system experience
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Word and Outlook
• Strong written and verbal communication
