CAD Engineer

About the role

Broadcom Central Engineering is seeking a CAD Engineer to develop and support CAD tool flows for advanced process nodes. The role involves hands‑on daily support of design and layout issues, as well as creating utilities that boost productivity for design engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day support for design/layout challenges and interact with EDA vendors, PDK development, and process technology teams.
• Develop, maintain, and document utilities that improve workflow efficiency and deliver hands‑on training to design engineers.
• Create and manage CAD PDK environments, including tool installations and layout customizations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Strong programming background for customizing layout environments and building productivity tools.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and multitasking abilities with keen attention to detail.

Required skills

• Experience with CAD tools such as Calibre and Virtuoso Layout.
• Knowledge of physical verification flows (DRC, LVS) and circuit simulation tools.
• Familiarity with QA testing, QA infrastructure, and AI‑based code generation utilities.
