About the role
The Category Manager is responsible for driving sales growth, margin expansion and inventory efficiency across assigned product categories. You will own the full commercial performance, from range strategy and pricing to promotion effectiveness and supplier profitability, while ensuring optimal sell‑through and stock management.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic plans for assigned categories to meet financial goals and increase market share.
- Translate customer insights, market trends and performance data into clear category priorities.
- Maintain strategic supplier partnerships through joint business plans and performance reviews.
- Manage category assortment, ensuring relevance, differentiation, space productivity and profitability.
- Source appropriate products internationally to meet local customer demand.
- Design and implement promotion plans that drive incremental sales and profitability.
- Allocate stock timely, monitor sell‑through and continuously improve processes.
- Develop competitive pricing strategies that deliver customer value.
- Collaborate with supply planning to ensure accurate forecasts and optimal inventory levels.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and achieve shrink and stock‑holding reduction targets.
Required profile
- Degree in Business Management or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in category management, buying or commercial roles within FMCG or multi‑category retail.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to interpret data and make profitable decisions.
- Excellent organizational, communication and negotiation abilities.
