Chemical Technician – Pharma, Shift, GMP (12‑Month Contract)

About the role

The client is building a next‑generation, modular pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Tuas. The Chemical Technician will operate and monitor chemical production streams on a shift basis, ensuring products are manufactured on schedule, to quality standards, and in a safe, cost‑effective manner.

Key responsibilities

• Operate specific plant streams, performing hand‑over checks, batch charging, and post‑charging verification.
• Monitor process parameters (temperature, pressure, flow, pH, volume, colour, moisture) via computer systems and manual observation, adjusting as needed.
• Conduct pre‑ and post‑batch cleaning of vessels and lines, and perform routine sampling and bulk packing.
• Record all operational and analytical data, report abnormalities to the Shift Supervisor, and maintain accurate labelling of products and documentation.
• Request raw materials, monitor stock, and follow clean‑room procedures.
• Prepare equipment for maintenance (de‑pressurising, LOTO) and perform basic maintenance using TPM tools.
• Operate ancillary facilities such as water systems, tank farms, solvent recovery, and salt‑crushing units.
• Observe and enforce cGMP, health & safety, and housekeeping standards.

Required profile

• Minimum NITEC or equivalent technical qualification.
• Ability to work shift patterns in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong attention to safety, quality, and procedural compliance.

Required skills

• Process monitoring (temperature, pressure, flow, pH, volume, colour, moisture).
• Batch cleaning and vessel preparation.
• Basic equipment maintenance (TPM, LOTO).
• Cleanroom operations and documentation handling.
• Understanding of cGMP and pharmaceutical safety regulations.
