Chemist (Maritime Service)

About the role

Eurofins Scientific, an international life sciences company offering analytical testing services, is hiring a Chemist for its Maritime Service in Singapore. The role involves routine analyses, documentation and quality checks, with night shifts required.

Key responsibilities

• Demonstrate and promote the company vision, attend and take part in project meetings, and contribute to a cohesive team.
• Learn and follow routine analyses according to methods, protocols, SOPs and regulatory guidelines, and learn to document work and maintain study records.
• Learn to use the laboratory equipment and software needed for assigned tasks.
• Carry out testing and calibration of equipment in the section, and learn to flag abnormalities and discrepancies in testing, calibration and results.
• Perform the duties of a Quality Officer for the section and perform peer review of data.
• Plan daily workload and coordinate it with team members.
• Help with general laboratory work such as sample receipt and registration, preparing sample bottles, and keeping the laboratory, equipment and apparatus clean and safe.
• Assist the Lab Manager/Senior Chemist and perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• At least a Diploma, Advanced, Higher or Graduate Diploma in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or equivalent.
• Ability to interact with operational, scientific and departmental management personnel.
• Willingness to work with potentially hazardous materials, overtime and weekend work, and to wear PPE.
• Entry-level candidates are welcome.
