Chemistry Lab Technician (Technologist)

About the role

Micron is hiring a Chemistry Lab Technician (Technologist) to provide analytical and equipment support for its Chemistry Lab. The role involves routine sample analysis and instrument operation in a clean-room Fab facility and chemical laboratory, and requires working scheduled shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Follow safety procedures and the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to analyse routine samples and report to internal customers
• Use analytical techniques and instruments such as chromatography, spectroscopy, titration, particle sizing, volume and weight measurements
• Prepare samples, standards and reagents, including vapor phase deposition (VPD), extraction, digestion and serial dilution
• Monitor and sustain equipment, perform preventative maintenance on assigned tools and collaborate with area engineers on troubleshooting
• Take part in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities, including 6S audits, housekeeping and keeping stock of reagents, standards, spare parts and consumables
• Keep the Chemistry Laboratory Manager informed of tool and area issues, and integrate AI-assisted tools to improve efficiency and quality

Required profile

• Diploma in Applied Chemistry or Chemical Engineering; Pharmaceutical/Material/Biomedical Science or Environmental Science/Engineering is preferred
• Fresh graduate or 1-2 years of working experience
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts and rotate day/night shifts as needed

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Theoretical and/or operational knowledge of analytical equipment such as ICP-OES, ICP-MS, GC/LC-MS, titration, LPC, assay, pH and conductivity
• Troubleshooting, multitasking, prioritisation and teamwork
