Chief Operating Officer – Digital Bank (Remote)

About the role

The Chief Operating Officer will partner closely with the CEO to build and operationalize an offshore digital bank from the ground up. This senior leader will define the operating model, drive execution, and ensure the business scales within regulatory boundaries.

Key responsibilities

• Build the bank’s operational foundation covering onboarding, KYC, payments, settlements, lending, account management and customer service.
• Translate strategy into execution by designing workflows, SOPs, KPIs and service standards.
• Create scalable operating models and drive automation, straight‑through‑processing and efficiency initiatives.
• Ensure regulatory and compliance readiness, including AML, CFT, KYC, internal controls and audit preparedness.
• Establish operational governance and lead high‑performing teams across operations, KYC/onboarding and customer support.
• Partner with the CEO on business scalability, growth planning and operational strategy.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher with 10–15+ years of experience in banking or financial services.
• Strong background in banking operations, 0‑to‑1 transformation, and digital bank or platform building.
• Experience launching new business lines and leading digital transformation initiatives.
• Deep understanding of banking regulations; experience engaging with regulators is a plus.
• Builder mindset, hands‑on operator, strong ownership mentality and comfort in fast‑changing environments.
• Fluent English; Mandarin proficiency highly preferred.
