CIO Credit Strategist – APAC Bond Markets

About the role

UBS is seeking a senior Credit Strategist to join its Chief Investment Office (CIO) APAC team, based in either Singapore or Hong Kong. You will focus on the Asia ex‑Japan corporate and sovereign bond market, developing bottom‑up credit analyses and shaping the UBS House View for internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse Asia ex‑Japan corporate and sovereign bonds (hard and local currencies such as SGD, AUD, CNH, HKD).
• Develop a bottom‑up credit analysis framework, including detailed financial models for covered issuers.
• Make relative‑value recommendations to outperform a specified benchmark.
• Publish written reports on credit strategy, issuer updates and thematic ideas.
• Communicate the CIO House View to internal stakeholders and external clients.
• Collaborate with Investment Counsellors and Advisors on pitches and client‑portfolio reviews.
• Support the maintenance and integrity of internal bond databases.

Required profile

• Degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in Asia credit markets.
• Strong analytical skills and solid understanding of rates markets and asset allocation.
• Confident presenter, able to convey views to diverse audiences.
• Excellent written and spoken English; business Mandarin is a plus.
• Curiosity about applying AI to improve workflow while adhering to risk and ethical standards.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Bloomberg.
• Experience using Data Query databases.
• Familiarity with CapitalIQ.
