Civil & Structural Resident Technical Officer

About the role

The Civil & Structural Resident Technical Officer will support the Resident Engineer in managing technical and design issues on construction sites, ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications, and safety standards. This role is critical for the timely delivery of projects, particularly in the healthcare sector.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Resident Engineer with technical and design issues on site and report findings.
• Supervise and inspect construction works as directed by the Consultant Team.
• Review construction drawings and highlight any discrepancies before installation begins.
• Ensure all works, including temporary works, follow approved drawings and specifications.
• Enforce adequate safety precautions on site.
• Resolve site issues to guarantee timely project completion.
• Participate in site meetings, inspections, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Maintain accurate site records and progress reports.

Required profile

• ITE certificate or Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognised institution.
• Accredited with IES‑ACES Joint Accreditation Committee (JAC) and a valid RTO Practising Certificate.
• Minimum 8 years of experience as a Resident Technical Officer.
• QA/QC experience in precast fabrication, production, and construction (advantage).
• Experience on healthcare projects is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of local civil and structural regulations and codes.
• Proven ability to resolve technical site issues and produce detailed progress documentation.
• Effective teamwork and communication skills.
