Cloud Engineer Intern

About the role

Weixin Group (WXG) builds and operates the Weixin ecosystem, including Official Accounts, Mini Programs, Weixin Pay, WeCom and search, and also develops QQ Mail and WeRead. As a Cloud Engineer Intern you will support the reliability, scalability and security of Tencent's business-critical systems in a cloud-native environment.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor production systems with tools such as Prometheus/Grafana and troubleshoot outages, taking part in on-call rotations with mentor guidance
• Write automation scripts (Python/Shell) for deployment, scaling and recovery, and help optimize CI/CD pipelines with GitLab, Docker and Kubernetes
• Analyze performance metrics and propose improvements to reliability and cost efficiency, supporting cloud infrastructure management (Tencent Cloud, AWS, Azure)
• Work with Dev, Data and Security teams to design SLOs/SLIs, and document configurations, runbooks and post-incident reports

Required profile

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning or a related field
• Strong foundation in deep learning and machine learning fundamentals
• Publications at top conferences (CVPR, ICCV, NeurIPS, ICLR, ACL, etc.), experience training large models or working with distributed systems, and experience with multimodal datasets and evaluation benchmarks
• At least one of: vision-language models, large language models, video understanding and generation, reinforcement or imitation learning, transformer architectures, multimodal alignment, agent training, synthetic data generation, or long-context training
• Professional working proficiency in English and Mandarin
