Cloud Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

About the role

Singapore Pools, a not-for-profit organisation established in 1968, is hiring a Cloud Site Reliability Engineer. The SRE drives operational resilience by architecting scalable cloud infrastructure, managing the enterprise DevOps toolchain and ensuring centralized observability across hybrid cloud environments. The role uses GitOps, custom automation and API-based services, and relies heavily on Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and GenAI tools to reduce manual work, optimise cloud spend and meet strict SLAs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop automated, API-based applications (including GenAI integrations) to streamline operational reporting and remove repetitive manual tasks.
• Apply SRE best practices for observability, availability, performance and incident response; define, measure and govern SLOs and error budgets with product engineering teams.
• Take part in on-call rotations, run postmortems and root cause analyses, and fix production bottlenecks.
• Enforce IaC code reviews so product teams can deploy fault-tolerant applications.
• Maintain DevOps systems, GitOps workflows and automated security and vulnerability scanning in CI/CD pipelines for app, container and IaC deployments.
• Build consolidated operations dashboards by integrating telemetry from multiple monitoring tools and native AWS/Azure metrics.
• Produce FinOps reports to track and optimise hybrid cloud spending.
• Run disaster recovery, backup, redundancy and capacity planning, and keep runbooks and operational documentation up to date.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Science or a related IT discipline.
• 4 to 7 years of hands-on experience in software engineering, cloud architecture, DevOps or SRE.
• Professional certifications such as ITIL, FinOps Certified Practitioner, AWS Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer, Azure Administrator or Azure Solutions Architect, or DevOps Engineer Expert.
• Experience building production software in Python, Golang or Java, including API services and serverless apps on AWS Lambda and Azure Functions.
• High proficiency in IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation), container orchestration (Kubernetes), Git and GitOps, and observability platforms (Prometheus, Grafana, Dynatrace, Splunk, InfluxDB).
• Strong communication skills and interest in cloud engineering trends.
