Commercial Legal Counsel – APAC (Singapore)

About the role

Mistral is seeking an experienced Commercial Legal Counsel to join its APAC legal team in Singapore. Reporting to the Director of Legal APAC, you will work closely with sales, engineering, and other business functions to support the company’s rapid growth across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Structure, draft, negotiate and provide strategic advice on a wide range of commercial contracts, including master services agreements, data protection agreements, partnership, reseller and professional services agreements.
• Support tenders, RFPs and complex enterprise technology deals, especially in the public sector.
• Collaborate with sales, deployment strategists, AI engineers, data scientists, infosec, government affairs, marketing, communications and finance to ensure legal and regulatory compliance.
• Monitor AI‑related legal and regulatory developments in APAC and advise the business on risks and opportunities.
• Deliver customised training and on‑the‑job coaching to regional teams on legal and compliance matters.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with several years of experience handling commercial contracts for technology or AI companies.
• Proven track record negotiating complex enterprise and public‑sector agreements.
• Strong commercial acumen, attention to detail and ability to work across time zones.
• Client‑oriented mindset and willingness to go the extra mile.

Required skills

• Expertise in drafting and negotiating master services agreements, data protection agreements, partnership and reseller contracts.
• Familiarity with AI‑related regulatory frameworks in the APAC region.
• Ability to interpret and apply legal requirements to business strategies.
