Commis Cook – Akira Back Restaurant

About the role

The Commis Cook will support the Akira Back restaurant team at JW Marriott Singapore by preparing a variety of dishes and ensuring kitchen operations run smoothly. This full‑time, on‑site position involves both hot and cold food preparation while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare special meals, substitute items and cold foods according to recipes and presentation standards.
• Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills and roasters and monitor food quality and quantity.
• Pull frozen items for thawing, portion, arrange and garnish dishes, and maintain accurate food logs.
• Communicate assistance needs during busy periods and inform the Chef of excess items for daily specials.
• Notify service staff of menu specials, out‑of‑stock items and ensure consistent food quality.

Required profile

• Technical, trade or vocational school qualification.
• Minimum three years of relevant kitchen experience.
• No supervisory experience required.

• Compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
