Commis – Republic Kitchen

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Commis to join the Republic Kitchen team at The Ritz‑Carlton Millenia Singapore. In this entry‑level position you will support the culinary team by preparing ingredients, cooking simple dishes and maintaining a clean, safe work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and portion ingredients, wash, peel and chop fruits and vegetables.
• Weigh, measure and mix ingredients according to recipes and quality standards.
• Cook and assemble cold and hot dishes, operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
• Monitor cooking progress, test food for doneness and ensure proper presentation.
• Set up and break down work stations, clean and disinfect kitchen areas, tools and equipment.
• Check appliance and food temperatures and follow safety and hygiene policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Minimum of one year of experience in a kitchen or food‑service environment.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to stand, walk and lift objects up to 25 lb throughout the shift.

Required skills

• Operating ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
• Food preparation and basic cooking techniques.
