Communications and Engagement Executive

About the role

THEATREWORKS is seeking a high‑energy, organised and creative Communications and Engagement Executive to lead its external communications, media relations and digital outreach. You will shape and execute a comprehensive communications strategy that raises the company’s profile, drives attendance and deepens community impact.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a communications and engagement strategy for all programmes, including scheduling, research, analytics and reporting.
• Create and maintain a content calendar covering organic and paid assets across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and other channels.
• Manage day‑to‑day social media operations: copywriting, digital asset creation, scheduling and publishing.
• Maintain and update the company website and digital pages, coordinating with web designers and external vendors.
• Produce copy and visual assets for marketing, EDMs, social media and other digital platforms.
• Design and execute a digital community‑engagement plan with clear guidelines and best practices.
• Build and nurture relationships with community partners, organise outreach initiatives and marketing events.
• Cultivate press and media contacts, write press releases, coordinate interviews and oversee media‑related photo sessions.
• Archive press clippings, video and audio assets for future reference.

Required profile

• High‑energy, organised and creative individual with a passion for the arts and community engagement.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to craft compelling stories for diverse audiences.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines and analyse performance metrics.
• Experience working with external partners, media outlets and community groups.
