Computer Security Engineer – Research Role

About the role

DSO National Laboratories is Singapore’s largest defence R&D organisation. The Computer Security Engineer will join the Information Assurance Programme to research emerging system security threats, develop detection and prevention techniques, and evaluate the security of critical cyber‑infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct research on the latest system security threats, vulnerabilities and risks.
• Develop and evaluate detection and prevention methods for cyber‑attacks on computer‑based and network‑based systems.
• Perform vulnerability assessments and security evaluations of diverse systems.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate security solutions into defence technologies.

Required profile

• PhD, Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer & Communication Systems, Information Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Forensics, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Network Technology, Mathematics or a related field.
• Experience with one or more system internals such as Windows OS, non‑Windows OS, mobile OS, embedded systems, SCADA systems, SIEM technologies, cloud computing, honeypots or malware.
• Strong passion for computer and network security.
• Prior research experience is advantageous.
