About the role
The Construction Contracts Manager – JAPAC will provide contract, commercial, administrative and governance support for construction projects across Japan and the Asia‑Pacific region. Based in Singapore or Australia, the role works closely with senior construction managers, project controls, procurement, finance, legal and external contractors to ensure smooth contract administration and cost management.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the setup, administration and coordination of construction contracts across JAPAC projects.
- Support senior construction managers with contractor onboarding requirements.
- Coordinate purchase order creation, tracking, approvals, amendments and close‑out activities.
- Maintain accurate contract records, commercial documentation, change logs and project administration files.
- Provide cost‑management oversight, tracking committed costs, forecasts, change orders and budget alignment.
- Work with Global Project Controls to support process rollout, governance, reporting standards and regional compliance.
- Support change‑order administration, including documentation, approvals and stakeholder coordination.
- Assist with vendor and contractor documentation, onboarding information, insurance and compliance records.
- Coordinate with Procurement, Finance, Legal and Project Controls to resolve contract, PO, invoice and approval issues.
- Support invoice review and payment coordination, ensuring alignment with contracts and approved scope.
- Track contract milestones, deliverables, key dates, approvals and commercial obligations.
- Provide regular reporting on contract status, PO status, cost position, change orders and commercial risks.
- Identify and escalate risks related to contract delays, PO gaps or missing documentation.
Required profile
- Proven experience in construction contract administration and governance.
- Familiarity with procurement, finance and legal processes in a construction environment.
- Ability to coordinate cross‑functional teams and external contractors.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate documentation.
- Knowledge of contract compliance, change‑order management and cost‑control practices.
