Construction Cost Controller – Engineering

About the role

We are looking for a Construction Cost Controller to manage cost planning, monitoring and forecasting for building services projects. The role ensures projects stay within approved budgets while providing clear cost visibility throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and maintain the project cost control system in line with approved budgets and contracts.
• Develop and maintain the Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS) aligned with project scope.
• Track original budget, approved changes, committed costs, actual costs and forecasts.
• Prepare and regularly update Estimate at Completion (EAC) and Estimate to Complete (ETC).
• Identify cost variances, trends and risks and recommend mitigation actions.
• Review contractor progress claims for completeness, accuracy and contractual compliance.
• Support payment certification and recommendations to the Project/Construction Manager.
• Evaluate potential change orders and variations, maintain an up‑to‑date change log and ensure proper approvals.
• Develop and monitor project cash‑flow forecasts and report actual cash flow.
• Assist in the preparation and reconciliation of the final account.

Required profile

• Proven experience in cost control for construction projects.
• Familiarity with contract administration, change order and variation management.
• Ability to maintain audit‑ready cost records and documentation.
• Strong analytical skills for variance analysis and forecasting.
