About the role
Micron Technology, a global leader in memory and storage solutions, is seeking a Contamination Control and ESD Engineer to join its quality team in Singapore. The role supports the semiconductor manufacturing environment by keeping cleanroom conditions and ESD controls within industry and company standards, monitoring contamination levels, supporting tool and material qualifications and helping investigate environmental or ESD issues. It works closely with cross-functional teams to maintain a stable production environment and support continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor, analyze and control cleanroom environmental parameters, including airborne molecular contaminants, airborne particles and trace metals, to meet semiconductor fabrication requirements and yield specifications.
- Carry out ESD qualification and certification for First-of-a-kind equipment, process tools and new materials, aligned with fablevel ESD controls and global reliability standards.
- Lead investigations of out-of-control and out-of-spec contamination events, perform root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Develop, optimize and enforce contamination control and environmental monitoring protocols, keeping fab systems within statistical process control limits.
- Work with Manufacturing Operations, Process Integration, Equipment Engineering and Facilities teams to reduce contamination risks and improve fab-wide quality and reliability.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949 and ANSI/ESD S20.20, and support audits and finding closure with site and global quality teams.
- Use AI analytics and RPA to automate data collection, detect contamination events faster and improve fab efficiency.
Required profile
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Materials, Chemical, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Hands-on ability to set up equipment, perform basic tool qualification and troubleshoot in a cleanroom, following fab safety and contamination protocols.
- Structured, data-driven approach using SPC, DOE, FMEA or root cause analysis.
- Strong analytical, logical and critical thinking skills, and effective communication across all levels.
- Growth mindset, leadership and a track record of impact are highly desirable; internship or semiconductor experience is a plus.
Required skills
- Familiarity with AI-enabled tools such as Python, Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI or Tableau is an advantage.
- Baseline digital fluency and AI literacy to use AI tools responsibly.
